Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali Belongs to a renowned family that is involved in the national politics for the last 80 years and made significant contributions in the creation of Pakistan. Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali, (the grandfather of Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali), was one of the close companions of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah from Balochistan. The family made untiring efforts for making Pakistan Muslim League active in Balochistan and prepared the people to support creation of Pakistan. Their contributions towards creation of Pakistan are written in the history of Pakistan in golden words.   

The efforts of Jamali's family for the uplift of Balochistan are well admired. They have always been in favour of spreading education in the province.  

The recent devastating floods of the country affected Balochistan equally. Since then, Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali is working day and night in rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations especially in Balochistan province. He himself visited almost every affected village and provided all possible material and moral support to the needy populace. Moreover, he successfully launched a number of schemes, aimed at reducing the sufferings of the flood effected people, with the support of European countries, NGOs, and international agencies such as World Food Programme, Southern Command Quetta, Red Crescent Pakistan, Red Crescent Turkey, ICRC, BRSP, etc.

Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali has passion for agricultural development in Balochistan, using modern technologies. He introduced innovative farming techniques at his personal land and achieved significant results thereof.

Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali got love for tourism in inheritance. Besides touring almost every nook and corner of Pakistan he has traveled to a large number of European, Far East, Middle East and Central Asian countries.

With this background, Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali is enthusiastic about his vision to make use of S&T for accelerated growth of agriculture and industrial sector that is absolutely necessary for socio-economic development of Pakistan.

Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali was born in Usta Muhammad, Balochistan, Pakistan. Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali elected as Chairman Municipal Usta Mohammad, Balochistan, 1983-1990.

He first became Member Provincial Council Balochistan 1983-1985,

Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali was elect as Balochistan Provincial Assembly member in 1988. His first term was from 1988 to 1993. He first became Provincial Minister on 1991

When President Ghulam Ishaq Khan used the reserve powers vested in him by the Eighth Amendment to dissolve the National and Provincials Assemblies on 1993.
